XENONOZ NEWSLETTER #2
GREAT RESULT!
Dubai 24 hr race - 1st, 2nd & 3rd in class!
Well done to Mal Rose and the whole team - glad we could help them see the way. Yet again we lead - others follow. Check out the press release.
SEE WELL AT NIGHT
Maybe its a case of long daylight hours and no need to insure all the headlights are actually working. Are you sure you're OK? In recent industry tests in Europe more than 30% of all cars on the road failed this most simple headlight test.
We see little difference here in Australia. Simple example - on your next night journey, count how many vehicles you see with only one headlight working. It's simple to fix - and very worthwhile! Of course you could replace the non-functional filament globes with true xenon or you could just learn how to replace the failed globes with products from your local service station.
In any case just please make sure your lights are at least working. To see the difference a true xenon upgrade can do, watch our video.
Secondly - keep them clean! Dirty lights can reduce light output by up to 80%! So next time you refuel, give them a scrub with the windscreen brush, and do your fellow motorist a favour, clean the rear lights as well so that following cars can see you!
Oh yes... and when was the last time you checked that your brake lights were working? It can be down-right dangerous to follow a car with no brake lights as we have all no doubt experienced!
AIM YOUR LIGHTS!
Some us remember having our lights properly aligned with a rego check each year. It seems this valuable service has almost gone the way of the dodo. Ask your service centre to check your headlight alignment and adjust it if necessary.
If you're really keen, like us, you'll know how to DIY. Our suggestion, drop the driver's side light a little and swing the curb side light inwards towards the centre line a little. Like seating position, light alignment is a very personal thing about motoring and, when you get it right, makes the whole night driving experience much more rewarding.
SPOT LIGHT UPGRADES
If you do any distance driving or open road driving, we recommend you invest in a pair of good quality spot lights. Or, perhaps it's time to dig out those old "spotties" you have in the garage?
Either way, upgrading them to xenon power will result in a new found ability to see the road at night.
SUMMER DRIVING
I'm sure by now most of you have invested in some good quality sunglasses for those hours behind the wheel with so much UV and glare about. If you haven't, do it today. But make sure you buy the best quality glasses you can afford, and treat them well. It sounds obvious, but don't sit on them, and always put them down with the lenses facing up - to prevent scratching them!
